Provides an overview of field applied Intumescent Fire Retardant Coatings (IFRC) for wood treatment (plywood, OSB, wood framing, structural panels, ornamental woodwork), sheetrock/drywall, fabrics and many other substrates. High performance coatings or IFRC’s contain low VOC’s, are green-building friendly paints and coatings and are formulated with mold inhibitors to contribute to indoor air quality.
