Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:

  • Describe the impact impervious surfaces have had on environmental and human health.
  • Define permeable interlocking concrete pavement (PICP) and describe how it improves upon the negative environmental impact of impervious surfaces.
  • List the components of a PICP system and discuss design variables for different design objectives.
  • List ideal existing site conditions for successful use of PICPs.
  • Identify different types of permeable interlocking concrete pavements and their benefits for a variety of conditions and uses.
