November 2005 – Teak Outdoor Furniture
Garden furniture with lasting appeal
Teak is an extremely dense-grained wood and is highly resistant to rotting, warping, shrinkage, and swelling, which makes it ideal for outdoor garden and patio furniture. Teak can be left in its natural state, or can be sanded and then rubbed with teak oil to bring back the original honey color. When left untreated, teak wood has a life expectancy of 75 years. It has been claimed that some teak benches still in use today in England's public parks are made of recycled decking from old sailing ships, and are nearly a century old! [Read more]
