Spray foam insulation is an effective insulation because it provides a seal that stops air infiltration and blocks allergens, irritants and airborne noise. This gives the HVAC unit control over the air inside a building, which makes the structure more energy efficient, comfortable and healthy. And because spray foam insulation does not sag or settle over time, that air tight seal lasts for the life of the structure.
BioBased Insulation is focused on increasing the sustainability of structures by making them more energy efficient and by increasing the sustainable attributes of spray foam products. BioBased Insulation offers products that have replaced a portion of the petroleum polyols with soy polyols, increasing the sustainability of the products without sacrificing quality. Current products are 3-16% biobased content in the finished foam based on ASTM D6866. BioBased Insulation also offers products that are water blown and a product that uses Enovate, a zero Ozone Depleting Potential and low Global Warming Potential blowing agent.
BioBased Insulation offers several insulation products: BioBased 501, a .5 lb open cell product; BioBased 502, a second-generation open cell product; 2001NB, a non-biobased closed cell product; and several sealant products: Soy Seal HD and Soy Seal XD used in the industrial and agricultural markets.
