Title: Senior Field Technical Specialist, Armstrong World Industries
Background: Ray D. Thompson, Jr. started as a floor covering apprentice for G.W. Paulson Co. before becoming an apprenticeship instructor for Local 1236 at Portland Community College, and later Lane Community College.
In 1976, he obtained his AA degree in Applied Sciences from Portland Community College. In addition to being a co-owner of both R & L Classique Floors and Décor Carpets, Ray has worked as Installation and Technical Specialist for Armstrong World industries, Manager of Installation Services for Sea-Pac Sales, and as a columnist for Business News Publishing and "Floor Covering Installer". Currently he is the owner of Ray Thompson Floor Covering Institute, and is the Senior Field Technical Specialist for Armstrong World Industries.
