Background
Nelson Wills is one of the founders and partners behind Element Designs. His educational background consists of a BA in Construction Science and Management from Clemson University, which focuses on materials and methods of commercial construction projects. Prior to Element Designs, Nelson worked in the factory automation industry in a sales engineering capacity, solving difficult applications with machine vision technologies while at Keyence America, medical device material handling challenges with smart monorail conveyers for Montech AG and complex full automation assembly lines with Automation Tooling Systems. Although the factory automation industry has very little in common with Element Designs, this knowledge base of diverse materials and understanding of precision manufacturing has served very well for the foundation of creative products and design solutions.
Nelson is responsible for product design, new product development, technical sales support, vendor partnerships among many other daily business duties. He is an expert in the aluminum extrusions, tempered glass and acrylics materials as well as all of the functional hardware found in Element Designs' custom manufactured products. Nelson clearly sees the future trends evolving towards sustainable materials with innovative products that are customizable to achieve unique design possibilities, which is one of core principals of Element Designs.
