Automated Windows for Natural Ventilation

Description: Natural ventilation relies on air pressure differences instead of or in conjunction with mechanical means to move fresh air through buildings. A properly designed natural ventilation system lowers capital and operating costs while improving energy efficiency and safety, as well as occupant health, well-being, and performance. This course demonstrates the role of windows and skylights in a ventilation strategy and discusses how an automated, programmable window operating system maximizes the benefits of natural ventilation.
