Description: Elevators are integral to accessible, smooth, and efficient operations in many applications. For low-rise buildings, hydraulic or gearless machine room-less (MRL) elevators are most common; this course presents the differences between the two in installation, maintenance, speed, energy efficiency, sustainability, and cost. Also addressed are the distinctions between proprietary and nonproprietary elevator systems and recommendations on how to specify a nonproprietary system to maximize its long-term benefits.

Title: General Manager, Partner, Alliance Elevator Solutions
I have spent most of my career working in or around global manufacturing companies, either in the heavy equipment or elevator industry, so it is a bit ironic that I am a partner in an independently owned North American elevator company, Alliance Elevator Solutions, in Mercersburg, PA. My travels throughout the United States and a few spots in Europe early in my career gave me a true appreciation for those global entities that have balanced North American ingenuity, European process with an ever so increasing global demand.
I also discovered that many successful companies, no matter the size or country they call home, had one thing in common; They actually believed they had a cause...not just a mission statement, but a real passion. When I had the opportunity to manage my first start-up, I never wanted to lose sight of what Alliance’s true cause was…make the independent elevator company as competitive as they could possibly be.
After years of field research and countless hours of product development, we are thrilled to introduce Alliance Elevator Solutions (AES). AES is the first true non-proprietary, plug & play model elevator company solely focused on the hardest working people in the elevator industry, the independent elevator contractor.
Alliance Elevator Solutions is a joint venture between two familiar names in our industry, Delaware Elevator Inc. (DEI) and DL Martin Co. (DLM). DEI established 1946 has grown to be one of the largest independents in the country, servicing and installing throughout the Mid-Atlantic. DLM is known as a hydraulic jack powerhouse and has been supplying the largest OEMs with elevator components for nearly 50 years. With the two parent companies combined, AES, is fueled by nearly 100 years of elevator experience.
Simplicity, the Ultimate Sophistication.
