Approximately 1 hour
With all the outside forces affecting building construction, such as the International Code Council, economic changes, and Green Standards, to name a few, it is no wonder that some decking material has conflicted with interfacing of the roofing assemblies. Though these materials are permitted by the building code, the weakness of the material to hold a fastener or adhesive for roofing jeopardizes the expected performance of the roofing assembly. To avoid concerns about long-term performance, it is important to understand the types of decking materials, there limitations, and how to improve architectural specification wording to meet code and long-term performance.
