Energy Efficient Education: Adding Air Movement to the Equation

Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes

Schools are designed to house more students and operate more intelligently than those of the past, often serving a variety of activities. To create an educational environment that promotes academic success, designers must consider aspects such as noise levels, temperature, humidity and ventilation. In this session, we will consider the use of air movement in four types of education spaces: auditoriums, classrooms, libraries and gymnasiums. Participants will move through four stations, each highlighting air movement integration in a different space type. Using recently published research papers, presenters will explore the thermal comfort, acoustic and energy savings benefits of incorporating fans into school design.

Presented by various experts on behalf of Big Ass Solutions.
