Sketch Nanaimo: A Festival Legacy

Approximately 3 hours

This inaugural legacy project will be facilitated by local architect, Ian Niamath, and artist and engineer, John Hofman. The intention is to record highlights of Nanaimo’s built form by quick sketching open to all delegates, and to the public, on a uniform set of papers, in whatever medium you wish! Check in at the Festival of Architecture 2016 Info Desk in the Diana Krall Plaza on Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 pm to get your official event sketch papers and get your sketch on! Bring your favourite pencils or paints to maximize your enjoyment observing and jotting down your impressions of the downtown Nanaimo’s cityscapes and their occupants. Your submitted sketches will be stored in the Nanaimo Archives, and may one day be on display as we compare and contrast, and reflect upon local sights that inevitably change with time.

Presented by various experts on behalf of Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC).
