Sustainable Solutions for Sectional and Rolling Doors

This course introduces relevant Health, Safety and Welfare topics for consideration when selecting sectional doors. Materials covered include; Structural and wind-load guidelines for safety and sustainability; Energy efficiency for personnel comfort and cost savings; Vision panels for pedestrian and vehicle safety and options in customizing doors for high use applications to ensure safety over time. At the end of this course, architects will be able to: Assess the green milestones that can be achieved in sectional door manufacturing, materials, packaging, shipping, delivery and supplier processes; Recognize the sustainable attributes that architects should look for when designing and specifying commercial sectional and rolling overhead doors; Identify the LEED categories and points where commercial sectional doors contribute to making their projects more sustainable and Design potential for commercial sectional doors by studying an award winning LEED Gold project. .
