| Cool Roofs in Use in Northern Climates: A Case Study | |

 Presented by: Chemical Fabrics and Film Association Description: Although the use of cool roofs is more or less universally accepted as being beneficial in southern climates, some have questioned the merits of using them in northern regions. This white paper summarizes the data collected by Target Corporation on the white, mechanically attached thermoplastic PVC roofing membranes that the company has installed almost exclusively for 20 years on their retail stores and distribution centers. These roof systems, which are typically installed over steel decks without a vapor retarder, have performed very well in all climates and they are to this day the base design for all of Target's facilities.  |
