  • Air barriers are intended to block air and moisture from getting into the building. But frequent testing and thermographic imaging shows that one common source of building leaks is at or near air barrier failures. Improper lapping and detailing of terminations, incompatible products, and lack of adhesion are just a few of the potential culprits. Proper project-specific testing ahead of construction can help prevent these failures before they become costly. This course will review industry-recognized requirements and test methods specified for air barrier membranes. Participants will also learn how enhanced testing can measure long-term performance, giving you piece of mind before construction begins.

  • As solar mounting technologies evolve to improve installation efficiencies and reduce material and labor costs, some developers and installers on the job site often find it daunting to keep abreast of changing technologies and adapt their operating procedures accordingly. This seems evident by phobias some people have about rail-less PV mounting for metal roofs, while many others claim it is a piece of cake and saves a fortune. A few small shifts in thinking can produce huge savings in labor, material, and logistics, so it is worth a look. The shifts pertain to the mechanics of installation and a couple of other aspects of a project, such as wire management. This course unpacks metal roof installations with a brief overview of the various types of metal roofs and their advantages for PV. Wire management techniques are presented in detail, along with other best practices and “how-to’s” for installing rail-less solar systems on metal roofs. Finally, methods for installing various accessories from microinverters to home runs are discussed.

  • Does your business partner occasionally drive you crazy? Do you occasionally drive your business partner crazy? The answer is most likely yes...and yes. Running a small or mid-sized design firm isn’t easy, especially when two or more partners are at the helm. Decision making can be difficult. Responsibilities can feel unbalanced. Priorities can differ. But the good news is you’re not alone – and there’s no such thing as a perfect partnership. There are lessons to be learned from those who have managed differences constructively. In this interactive webinar, CVG’s CEO, Todd Reding, will walk through common sticking points that CVG has helped partners navigate within the leadership of small and mid-sized architecture, landscape architecture, and interior design firms. Of course, all names will be changed to protect the innocent, and situations will be presented in the abstract. Join us as we present a handful of case studies in firm partnerships. Most importantly, we’ll discuss proven tools and solutions that you can bring back to your own conference room for your next partner’s meeting.
