The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) announced today that it will allow LEED users to register projects under the LEED 2009 rating system until Oct. 31, 2016. After a poll taken at Greenbuild found that 61% of respondents said they are "not ready" or "unsure if they are ready" for LEED v4, the USGBC extended the use of LEED 2009 by 16 months. This will allow more time for LEED users to move into to the new rating system.
