Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:
- Discuss what is trending in kitchen and bathroom design and the design opportunities of specifying interior finishing products during the conceptual stage of kitchen and bathroom planning.
- Define interior finishings as a home décor category and evaluate key planning criteria when combining interior finishing products with other design elements.
- Discuss how interior finishings can be used to create a design focal point in a space or enhance an entire room.
- Apply recommended strategies to organize interior finishings style categories and discuss how to value engineer a project, and recognize the importance of detailing options during the presentation stage of the design process to ensure final customer satisfaction with the room.

Throughout her career, she has been a prolific author, first gaining prominence in the industry when she wrote two textbooks considered the basis of design education. Today, she continues spearheading industry educational efforts as the author of four of NKBA’s Professional Resource Library volumes, and as a columnist for Kitchen & Bath Design News.
