Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:
- Recall the durability testing required for resisting both hurricanes and tornadoes and the potential impact strength of flying objects in a tornado or hurricane.
- Understand the structural requirements and potential areas of weakness in buildings relative to floods and high winds.
- Define the term “dry floodproofing,” and describe why even dry floodproof buildings should have a moldproof structure.
- List the most susceptible aspects of a building during a wildfire, and describe how ICFs work in these situations.
- Describe the requirements of an ICF coating that would complement its disaster- resistant qualities.
