Choosing the right insulation is becoming one of the most important decisions in design, construction and retrofit, as insulation has a dramatic impact on the energy efficiency of a building. The use of continuous insulation (ci) construction systems on the exterior of the building is critical in order to design energy efficient buildings. This course reviews the manufacture and use of mineral wool, and its contribution to sustainable buildings as a continuous insulation.

Name: Angie Ogino
Title: Technical Services Manager, Thermafiber, Inc.
Background: Angie has a BS in Business Administration (Marketing) and is currently employed by Thermafiber, Inc. as Technical Services Manager. Angie has over 13 years experience in providing technical assistance to architects, building officials and contractors in the fire containment arena. She is involved in Thermafiber’s life safety programs as the designer and developer of presentations on perimeter fire containment and is an AIA approved continuing education instructor. Angie manages Thermafiber’s technical department and is also a member of the International Firestop Council (Chairman of Website Development), participates on ASTM E 60 in developing Environmental/Sustainability Standards and is active in code development for IGCC (International Green Construction Code). She also serves on two Environmental Standard Development committees for Underwriters Laboratories. Angie is also involved in UL and OPL testing for Thermafiber, Inc. Angie has experience in model building codes and is a LEED Accredited Professional.
