Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:
- Describe the extrusion manufacturing process and identify its main advantages over other manufacturing processes.
- Identify the components of paint and their role in determining the performance characteristics of a coating system.
- Describe a coating manufacturing process for extruded aluminum products, and evaluate and compare different coating chemistries.
- Identify industry standards and tests relative to the performance requirements of coatings for metal building components.
- Determine the difference between AAMA specifications and use this information to properly select and specify the best coating for a metal building component or project.
