Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:

  • Discuss the changing kitchen design preferences of the 2010+ client, while appreciating the value of updating information gathering and planning process methods for presenting solutions to prospective clients.
  • Define specific differences between the European Contemporary and American Contemporary design aesthetic, and apply this to creating a kitchen for the American consumer, styled in the European fashion.
  • Detail product installation options the design professional can consider/adopt/ embrace when merging contemporary cabinet details with American appliance specifications.
  • Describe new ways of planning the equipment placement, and explore how to design integrated finished spaces meeting both functional equipment and user ergonomic requirements.
