Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:
- To list and define the four components of stucco and at least five properties of one coat stucco.
Identify the system components of stucco and at least two causes for stucco deterioration.
Use regional industry guidelines to defend and specify the use of different moisture barriers for successful installation of stucco systems.
Determine the need for reinforcement materials and bonding agents when installing stucco systems.

Background: Dennis is the Technical Director for Total Wall, Inc., where he is known for his ability to simplify complex topics and create high quality training materials and programs. Dennis holds a BS in Chemistry and an MBA and has worked in the coatings industry for over 23 years. Dennis has authored several published articles relating to stucco and EIFS while working in product development, quality control and technical marketing positions. Dennis is on the Board of Directors of The Exterior Design Institute (EDI), a training organization for EIFS and stucco applicators and inspectors, and is currently the Education Committee Chairman and instructor. Dennis also holds the following industry certifications and trainings: EDI Moisture Analyst, EDI 3rd Party Inspector, AWCI EIFS Mechanic, IAQA/AWCI Mold Loss Prevention Specialist, MoistureFree Warranty Inspector Certified, NAHB EIFS Remediation trained, and Structural and Contemporary Masonry trained (Middlesex County College). Dennis is a member of ASTM and IAQA.
