AEC350 - Insulated Metal Wall and Roof Panels...THIS COURSE IS NO LONGER OFFERED

THIS COURSE IS NO LONGER OFFERED.

Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:

  • Discuss how IMPs serve as walls, ceilings and roofs for commercial and industrial buildings, in new and retrofit construction; and how they can be easily adapted to pre-engineered metal building designs for almost any end-use, as walls and roofs, saving material and labor costs.
Explain how IMPs improve building performance by preventing moisture intrusion, lowering energy costs, and improving the thermal comfort of its occupants.
Demonstrate the energy efficiency and thermal performance of IMP systems by comparing the insulating value of IMP systems to traditional systems of the past and describe the structural characteristics of IMPs which ensure durability and protection from the elements.
Analyze the sustainability benefits, attributes and performance criteria of IMPs relative to qualifying for credits within the U.S. Green Building Council LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System.
Differentiate various types of IMPs based on their performance features and aesthetics and specify the appropriate IMP system for a specific application.
