Background: Bob M Cluney is the President of Krieger Specialty Products, a company that has been researching, developing and manufacturing special purpose doors and windows for over 65 years. Bob’s third generation experience in designing and manufacturing special purpose door and window assemblies is behind many, if not most, of the innovations that continue to lead the special purpose openings industry today. Krieger is nationally recognized as one of only a handful of premier manufacturers of acoustical doors and windows, and one of the top manufacturers of special purpose doors and windows in the world. In 1988, Krieger was the first manufacturer to break the STC 51 barrier with a 1-3/4" thick door; and in 1992, Krieger achieved an STC rating of 47 on a wood door, the highest at the time. Bob’s experience includes numerous years in special purpose door and window installation, engineering, and design. He has written numerous articles on the subject and has been published in magazines such as Door and Hardware, Security Management and Construction Specifier. Bob holds a degree in Business Administration from the Azusa Pacific University and a Masters in Business Administration from Pepperdine University.
