Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:
- Describe channel glass and its beneficial design and energy efficient features which make it an ideal choice for green building construction projects and how these features may reduce the lifetime operating costs of a building.
Identify and discuss glass layout and basic installation guidelines regarding channel glass wall systems including enhancements available to improve the thermal performance of this translucent building material.
Examine technical and performance data pertaining to channel glass and explain how a channel glass wall system can optimize occupant comfort, health and productivity by improving the interior environment through daylighting, views, and sense of privacy.
Specify the appropriate channel glass wall system for a building project; explain the testing standards applicable to channel glass; and, identify how the use of channel glass can help a building project achieve LEED® certification.
