LED display walls create high-impact, seamless visuals for corporate settings, hospitality venues, and retail stores. Their modular design offers unmatched creative freedom, and they outperform other display technologies in brightness, color gamut, service life, and power consumption. This course presents an overview of LED display walls with discussions of the components, performance, lifespan, and energy benefits of LED tiles.
Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:
- Summarize the differences between display walls composed of LCD panels, rear-/front-screen projection, rear-projection cubes, and LED tiles.
- Discuss the components of LED tiles, including their performance characteristics and image quality.
- Explain how LED tiles work in display walls and the general installation, safety, and design considerations.
- Describe the energy, lifespan, and performance benefits of RGB LED technology used in display walls.

Background: Alen Koebel joined Christie® in 1983, soon after receiving his BSc in Physics from the University of Waterloo. Over the past thirty years Alen has been directly involved in the technical design of many of Christie’s major product lines ranging from the earliest all-analog CRT projectors to high-powered, all-digital DLP projectors, including lead development roles in the Marquee™ CRT projection family and the CP2000 DLP Cinema™ projector. Alen is currently responsible for developing and promoting world-class design practices within Christie.
