How to Specify Colored Concrete

Provides an overview of colored concrete including coloring methods, pigments, color consistency, and maintenance. It also examines the specification considerations of cast-in-place and precast concrete as well as concrete finishes.

Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:

  • Explain how concrete is integrally colored, identify its advantages, and list the LEED® credits impacted by colored concrete .
  • Describe the various applications for vertical and flatwork cast-in-place colored concrete and the specification considerations unique to these applications.
  • Describe the various applications for precast colored concrete and their specification considerations.
  • List some of the methods used for finishing colored concrete and the steps to take to ensure a successful design project.
