Centralized mail and package delivery is often a last-minute consideration that causes confusion due to the various compliance and accessibility requirements needed to complete the installation. This course is designed to demystify the process by providing a clear explanation of several mailbox installation specifications, accessibility standards, and design strategies.
Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:
- State the accessibility and general mailbox installation specification differences between the United States Postal Service (USPS), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and Fair Housing Act (FHA).
- Specify the space-planning requirements for centralized mail and package delivery equipment to meet USPS specifications and accessibility requirements.
- Outline at least one design strategy based on accessibility standards for residential centralized mail and parcel delivery equipment.
- Identify tips for improving collaboration with US Postal Service officials for successful approval of centralized mail and package delivery designs.
