A gas fireplace is ranked #1 as a homebuyer’s highly desired decorative and appearance home products. This course provides an overview of the three steps for builders, architects, and designers to facilitate fireplace design and selection that will increase homebuyer satisfaction, as well as a discussion on the current trends of indoor and outdoor fireplaces.
Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:
- Explain the disconnect between homebuyers desire for fireplaces and the current low incident rate of fireplaces in new homes and how building professionals can optimize their profits.
- Discuss the following three steps that are required to increase homebuyer satisfaction in terms of fireplace design and installation:
•understand client’s wants and needs;
•determine room proportion/use;
•match the right solution to the specific homeowner type
- Define key design trends in fireplaces including "traditional realism", "Modern Fire Art" and "Fusion" design.
- Describe some of the current design applications of both indoor and outdoor fireplaces.
