Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:

  • Discuss the fundamental principles of anchor theory including the types of load transfer mechanisms used to resist tension, shear and combined loading.
  • Describe the various types of post-installed adhesive and mechanical anchoring systems.
  • List the factors that determine anchor performance.
  • Define the 2003/2006 International Building Code’s (IBC) design and test requirements for anchoring systems including Evaluation Service Reports (ESR).
