Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:
- Summarize elevator history from the earliest prototypes to modern system innovations.
- Examine conventional elevator technology and explain how technological advances in machine room-less elevators have.
- Improved product life-cycle costs, space savings, and occupant comfort.
- Evaluate different elevator types and compare the impact each technology has on an elevator's carbon footprint and energy efficiency .
- Recognize the contribution of energy efficient elevators to improved building performance and the sustainable ownership of new and existing buildings.
- Identify and discuss future technology trends such as solar power and regeneration that will further impact elevator energy efficiency.
