Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:
- List and discuss seven major criteria to consider when selecting an interior building material for a specific application.
- Identify and compare the inherent aesthetics, performance properties, sustainability attributes of over ten interior grade building materials.
- Discuss why, by its nature (growth cycle, availability, molecular makeup), bamboo is considered one of the world’s most sustainable resources.
- Discuss how laminated veneer bamboo (LVB) offers enhanced performance, strength, and aesthetics over traditional interior grade building materials.
- Identity five or more interior design applications for LVB.
- Analyze the sustainability benefits, attributes and performance criteria of laminated veneer bamboo (LVB) relative to contributing to credits under the LEED® green building certification program.
