Safe and effective traffic control is a necessity for a variety of facilities and locations, both commercial and residential. This course reviews options for traffic and parking control, both manually-activated and motorized traffic spike systems. Discussions include advantages, key features, safety requirements, and installation information.

Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:

  • Define the importance of traffic and parking control systems and where they are most commonly used.
  • Explain the differences between manually-activated spike systems and motorized spike systems, including key features of both.
  • Describe the options for installation methods, including in-ground/flush mount and surface mount.
  • Identify safety requirements as well as maintenance and installation guidelines to ensure safety and product warranty.
