The Design Versatility of the Single-Component Metal Panel
As architects push the boundaries of design, the need for a material that offers the greatest amount of flexibility is required. From the vast number of aesthetic options, superior durability, cost efficiencies, and ease of installation in all weather conditions, single-component metal panel systems offer such flexibility.
Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:
- Identify the various performance goals and market sectors for architectural single-component metal (SCM) panels.
- Recall the components and construction of a single-component metal panel wall.
- Describe each finish option’s maintenance requirements, performance, and durability.
- List the custom fabrication and accessory options available in the manufacturing process of SCM panels.
- Design an energy- and resource-efficient wall section using an insulated metal panel (IMP) backup wall and SCM panels.
