Louver Design & Performance: From Basic to Extreme (Removed)

This course is no longer active. AEC Daily will not report completion information for this course.

While providing fresh air intake and exhaust, reducing noise, and keeping out unwanted water and debris, louvers can also provide architectural style to a building design. This course discusses the aesthetics and weather resistance features of a variety of louver designs from the basic to the extreme. A discussion about the industry standards and test protocol for louver performance is included.

Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:

  • Identify different louver families and the considerations for the selection of louvers for a building project.
  • Determine the best material and finish for louvers for a variety of applications.
  • Discuss AMCA standards and test protocol for louver performance.
  • Explain the importance of louver pressure and impact testing so that a louver performs well under extreme weather events.

Approximately 1 hour. Delivered online, at your own pace.
