- Explain the importance of working with experienced and knowledgeable vendors of naturally durable wood products to develop sustainable product specifications.

Background: Brian Lotz has over 35 years’ experience in the application, sourcing and supply of naturally durable tropical hardwood products. He is regularly consulted regarding naturally durable hardwood species selection, application and sourcing.
Brian has developed written grading rules and standards for tropical hardwood decking, developed CSI specification language for tropical hardwood decking, developed written Systems and Procedures for Controlled Wood and Lacey Act Compliance and implemented FSC Chain of Custody certification program.
He has been delivering educational presentations on naturally durable hardwoods and their applications to project designers since 1981.
