Provides an overview of the applications, terminology, and specification considerations relating to Bar and Plank Grating products.
Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:
- List the component materials used in bar and plank grating and describe how each differs in terms of aesthetics, structural capability, strength, durability and availability.
- Discuss bar and plank grating selection considerations when designing for specific loading requirements, specifically open area, bar height and thickness, spacing, span and load type.
- List and compare the different types of bar grating including their relative heavy loading strength, stability, walkability and identify which type is ADA compliant.
- List and compare the different types of plank grating including their relative stability, walkability and identify which types are ADA compliant.
