Provides an overview of the causes and consequences of moisture problems beneath concrete slabs in flooring applications, as well as a discussion on the types and characteristics of under-slab vapor retarders/barriers.
Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:
- List the sources of moisture affecting concrete slabs.
- In terms of flooring applications, describe the consequences of both liquid water and water vapor migration in concrete slabs.
- Define the various moisture measurement tests that are performed to evaluate the moisture content in concrete.
- Discuss the characteristics, specification and installation of under-slab vapor retarders/barriers.
