- Examine the residential fire problem in the U.S. and recognize the life safety and property protection benefits of installing home fire sprinkler systems.
Explain how home fire sprinkler systems work, dispel common home fire sprinkler misconceptions, and help raise awareness of the benefits of home fire sprinkler systems.
Discuss system installation requirements, the important of working with all trades during a home's construction, and ensure compliance with the national standards applicable to home fire sprinkler systems.
Identify the environmental benefits of home fire sprinklers and illustrate how they can save money for developers, builders, homeowners and communities.

Title: Communications Manager, Home Fire Sprinkler Coalition
Background: Peg has been the communications manager for the Home Fire Sprinkler Coalition (HFSC) since 1997. She has worked with HFSC’s steering committee to develop educational programs and materials for members of the home building industry, fire sprinkler trade, fire service, water purveyors, real estate and insurance agents and consumers.
HFSC’s is a non-profit 501©(3) who’s mission is to provide accurate information to the public about the life-saving value of residential fire sprinkler protection, particularly in new construction of one- and two-family dwellings. Board Members include representative from the American Fire Sprinkler Association (AFSA), Canadian Automatic Sprinkler Association (CASA), Home Safety Council, International Association of Fire Chiefs, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), National Fire Sprinkler Association (NFSA), State Farm Insurance, Underwriters Laboratories and U.S. Fire Administration.
