Description: EPDM, PVC, and TPO are the most popular single-ply roofing materials used in low-slope roof applications today. This course presents an overview of the differences between these materials in terms of manufacturing, formulation, and performance. In addition, seaming, flashing, and installation options are reviewed to aid in selecting a durable system that meets the project requirements.

Derek Nickum is the Group Channel Manager for Johns Manville, Roofing Systems Group, currently leading two national sales channel groups (Building Constructor Services and Specifier Services) and the Inside Sales effort. After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado, he entered the commercial construction industry as an operations manager for a nationwide commercial subcontractor. He joined Johns Manville in 2013 as a Specifier Services Rep for the Midwest region to focus on providing industry-leading services to the design community. He was soon promoted to Sr. Specifier Services Rep and moved to the Southeast region enhancing his technical knowledge of commercial roofing system design and expanding his customer base. Derek was promoted to lead the Specifier Services team and oversee the Johns Manville BURSI educational platform in 2017. In the Fall of 2018, his responsibilities grew to include leading the national sales effort for Building Constructors.
