Healthy, Wealthy and LEED®-Wise

This session discusses how LEED certified buildings can contribute to the health and well-being of occupants and simultaneously promote a healthy economy. We will discuss lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic and how they shaped the USGBC vision for the built environment. We will discuss the implementation of the LEED v4.1 Safety First: Re-enter Your Workspace pilot credit, as well as synergies with the other three LEED v4.1 Safety First credits, and synergies with existing credits in the LEED v4 rating system for New Construction.

Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:

• Understand lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic and how they helped shape the USGBC vision that healthy people in healthy places equals a healthy economy
• Successfully implement and document the LEED v4.1 pilot credit Safety First: Re-Enter Your Workspace
• Identify synergies between LEED v4.1 pilot credit Safety First: Re-Enter Your Workspace and existing credits in the LEED v4 rating system, and also with the other LEED v4.1 Safety First pilot credits.
• Understand the importance of immune system and respiratory health and how strategies in LEED credits such as EQc Enhanced Indoor Air Quality Strategies and LEED v4.1 pilot credit Safety First: Re-Enter Your Workspace support the immune system and respiratory health.
• Re-Enter Your Workspace support immune and respiratory health.
