Sublimation transfer printing is an innovative technology used to transfer designs, effects, and finishes onto both metallic and nonmetallic surfaces. In this course, we explore the science behind sublimation printing and identify the benefits of the sublimation process on aluminum profiles, including advantages to sustainability. Applicable tests, performance criteria, and case studies are also shown.
Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:
- Describe the mechanism of sublimation transfer printing and the needed components for a successful sublimation process.
- Identify the advantages of using sublimation transfer printing on powder-coated aluminum-based profiles, considering applicable tests and criteria.
- Discuss the sustainability aspects of sublimation printing, review related products, and visualize architectural applications.
- Review digital printing and other available transfer films and their applications.
