High-Performance Coatings and Exterior Restorations
High-performance coatings are a necessity when it comes to protecting building exteriors and restoring them after harsh weathering and UV degradation; the right coatings prolong a building exterior’s life span and divert materials from landfills. New PVDF coating systems provide superior protection while satisfying aesthetic and environmental considerations. Their various characteristics and benefits are explored, and application methods are discussed.
Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:
- Discuss the different categories of high-performance coatings and their role in protecting a building’s exterior and improving its appearance.
- Compare various types of high-performance coatings, focusing on PVDF resins and the attributes and sustainability benefits associated with water-based formulations.
- Examine the various uses of PVDF-based coating systems and their contributions to sustainability while achieving aesthetic objectives.
- Summarize the application parameters that ensure the optimal performance of a coating system as well as applicator and user safety and well-being.
