Flushing is a key activity that can improve water quality and reduce the risk of Legionella and other waterborne pathogens, enhancing patient health and well-being. This course examines flushing practices as complementary to supplemental disinfection and a critical component in hospital water management plans.
Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:
- Analyze the latest technology and design that improves patient health by enabling flushing protocols to be conducted based on actual water usage.
- Assess the advantages and risks supplemental chemical disinfection has on patient health and the ability to reduce the risk of Legionella.
- Explore how industry-accepted flushing protocols can improve the health of patients by reducing the risk of Legionella.
- Discover how flushing protocols reduce the growth of biofilm and improve the effects of other supplemental disinfection practices while improving the health of patients.
