Site security is a major concern in today’s unpredictable world. Public and private buildings, government facilities, campuses, and public parks are all susceptible to both accidental and deliberate vehicle infringement. This course examines how security bollards create safeguards for structures and people while adding to the aesthetics of a project.

Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:

  • Assess project security needs to appropriately specify bollards as security barriers in a manner that ensures safety and security for occupants and users.
  • Describe current testing and standards used to certify bollard performance in the field, allowing product specification with confidence.
  • Examine bollard foundation engineering and the impact of its design on how effectively the bollard performs as a barrier system.
  • Explore modern design innovations for security bollards that allow high durability in combination with lighting performance and exceptional aesthetics.
