What resources are out there to help when you are developing a design and specification? Your goal is clear… Satisfy code requirements while exceeding your client’s performance expectations of a project. It is hard to be an expert on every material choice you make during design development. When considering masonry there are numerous resources available that will educate you on structural performance, aesthetics opportunities and lifecycle costs. This course will outline four design resources to aid in masonry design: CMHA (Concrete Masonry Hardscapes Association), BIA (brick Industry Association), MCAA (Mason Contractors Association of America) and the Block Design Collective.
