This course provides an overview of types of hybrid vinyl flooring and how they contribute to long-term value through reduced maintenance needs, verified indoor air quality performance, and responsible material sourcing. It examines manufacturing processes, product content, and material transparency that influence consistency, durability, and environmental impact. These attributes can support credit achievement in green building programs such as the LEED® v5 Building Design and Construction and Interior Design and Construction rating systems and the WELL Building Standard™ version 2 by addressing low-emitting materials, responsible manufacturing, and product transparency.

Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:

  • Assess the characteristics of hybrid vinyl flooring that affect durability, contribute to indoor air quality, and align with LEED v5 and WELL v2 criteria.
  • Analyze how hybrid vinyl flooring advances sustainability goals by limiting material use and reducing maintenance demands in accordance with LEED v5 and WELL v2 requirements.
  • Evaluate the benefits of hybrid vinyl products, including acoustical vinyl tile, hybrid resilient carpet, and industrial vinyl tile, their testing requirements, and their suitability for a variety of applications.
  • Examine how third-party certifications and declarations (EPDs, HPDs, FloorScore, GREENGUARD Gold) support LEED v5 and WELL v2 objectives for material transparency and VOC compliance.

Approximately 1 hour. Delivered online, at your own pace.
