Designing Safe and Secure Transactions with Customers

This course introduces the fundamentals of designing and specifying transaction systems that support safe, secure, and efficient customer interactions. Learners will explore how to evaluate and select solutions, such as drive-thru and ticket windows, transaction drawers, package receivers, and ballistic-rated products, based on operational needs and risk considerations. The course also reviews applicable regulations and industry standards, helping designers develop compliant, effective, and user-friendly transaction strategies.

Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:

  • Identify appropriate applications for various transaction systems and their role in supporting safe, reliable customer interactions.
  • Evaluate regional regulations, accessibility requirements, and testing standards to ensure system safety and performance.
  • Compare system types and features to determine how they support secure, protected interactions for both staff and customers.
  • Assess material compositions and protection levels to reduce security risks, minimize contamination and energy waste, and optimize performance in harsh environmental conditions.
