Tesla’s mission is to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy. We design sustainable systems that are massively scalable—resulting in the greatest environmental benefit possible. These include products like Solar Roof and Powerwall...
This course covers several aspects of the Tesla Ecosystem, Tesla Solar Roof (renewable energy generation), Tesla Powerwall (energy storage & back-up power), and Tesla Wall Connector (electric vehicle charging).
Upon completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:
Understand how he Tesla Solar Roof product interacts with: Building systems in particular, structural, electrical and fire protection. We also cover design, specifically how design interacts with overall building design and safety measures. We will also cover how Tesla Solar Roof interacts with the environmental topic including energy efficiency, sustainability, natural hazards, ventilation, weatherproofing, and insulation. We will cover materials and methods as it relates to construction systems and products.
Understand that the Tesla Powerwall is an energy storage system that allows the user greater energy independence, the ability to have instant back-up power and potentially in participating utilities, be a part of a virtual powerplant (VPP). The Powerwall interacts with HSW topics which include building systems particularly electrical and fire protection. It also interacts with the Design topic particularly safety and security measures. We will also cover the environmental topic, energy efficiency, sustainability, natural hazards, hazardous material & occupant comfort.
Understand how the Tesla Wall Connector (Electric Vehicle Charger) interacts with building systems namely electrical. It also interacts with environmental, energy efficiency, sustainability & health impact analysis.
Understand that often times solar is forbidden by HOA’s or Historic preservation commission because the look of solar clashes with the aesthetic look of the neighborhood or it’s historic construction. These roofs are often Spanish clay tile, slate, or wood shake. The Tesla Solar Roof has the advantage of utilizing an aesthetic that comes very close to the textured look of slate or wood shake, maintaining a homes historic feel.
