Sustainable Building Materials: LEED® Application for Transparency and Environmental Accountability

Sustainability through multi-attribute assessments are introduced to help the building professional utilize more comprehensive sources. This course addresses new techniques, risks, and basic leadership skills for successful sustainable projects. Furthermore, it looks at how design and construction teams can cooperate with material suppliers in tracing a material’s life-cycle from raw material extraction, manufacture, installation, and finally, material end-of-life considerations. The new Green Building Design and Construction, LEED version 4 (v4) rating system, is evaluated for its incorporation of a multi-attribute focus on building materials and resources.
