Background: Paul Johnson, PhD, PE, is a Product Engineer for the Ecospan® Composite Floor System supplied by Nucor – Vulcraft/Verco Group. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Old Dominion University, Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Clemson University, and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Old Dominion University. Mr. Johnson has both research and design experience in the public and private sectors, with multiple types of floor systems and construction materials encompassing single family residential to high rise construction to heavy commercial applications.
